PRODUCT OVERVIEW
XR2500
The XR3500, XR3000, XR2500, XR1500 and XR800 deliver 1,000, 700, 500, 330 and 200 watts per channel into 8? respectively. ??
All models feature XLR thru connectors, making cable management and daisy-chaining easy for installers or when used in flight cases. ?All models feature full circuitry protection for thermal, over current, DC, output short circuit along with power on/off muting. ?All models also feature ultra quiet variable speed fans.
Rear panel mode switches allow for selection between Parallel, Stereo and Bridge modes along with input sensitivity switching.
Large front air vents and steel construction aid heat dissipation to ensure the long life and reliable performance that comes with any Wharfedale Pro amplifier. ?Meanwhile, a huge toroidal transformer takes care of any AC power fluctuations.
Protection
An XR series amplifier features comprehensive protection circuitry. This ensures that no matter what problems might exist with external cabling, AC power or loudspeakers, the amplifier will protect itself, and its surroundings.
Front panel LED’s give immediate and clear feedback to the situation. Should an external fault occur, the red LED ‘Fault’ light will illuminate and the amp will go into Protection mode. A rear panel ‘Reset’ button is then available to reset the amplifier once the external fault has been diagnosed and removed.
Handy ‘Clip’ LED’s are also visible from the front panel. Even from a distance, its simple and clear to see and understand the status of the amp.
A look behind the scenes
Around the back of the XR are the balanced inputs and outputs along with configuration switches.
A handy feature are the 2 x XLR link outputs which allow for easy ‘daisy chaining’ of multiple amps – removing the need for external patching or excessive cabling.
Around the back is also the input sensitivity switch selectable between 0.775v or 1.4v.
The main ‘Bridge / Stereo / Parallel’ mode switch is also on the rear. STEREO mode makes the two channels work independently. CH1 input signal goes to CH1 output and CH2 signal goes to CH2 output. BRIDGE mode makes CH1 input signal go to the BRIDGE output socket. This is controlled by using the CH1 volume control. PARALLEL mode makes CH1 input signal go to both CH1 and CH2 output sockets. The input socket of CH2 has no effect. The channel volumes can be adjusted independently.
