The LTU-LR is a PtMP client unit for the 5GHz band with 26dBi antenna gain and LTU proprietary wireless technology that is not built on the limited 802.11 standard, achieving real TCP/IP speeds of 600Mb/s+ (up to 1Gb/s+ with future fw), modulation up to 4096 QAM (in future fw) and a higher spectral efficiency of 21.2bps/Hz, which is double compared to the 802.11AC standard! LTU is a completely new platform based on proprietary technology that does not use the 802.11 protocol. It is not compatible with devices from the airMAX M5 or airMAX 5AC series. On the other hand, although LTU is based on the technology used by airFiber products, they use a different protocol for communication, and thus LTU products are not compatible with AF-5X or AF-5/5U products either.
